Two Novelists at Hovey House Writer's Group
Now in its fourth season, the Hovey House Writer's Group welcomes two Gloucester novelists to our November meeting. Attorney Joe Orlando, author of The Bastard's Weapon will be our guest along with Mike Maranhas, author of the soon to be released novel Re'Enev.
Joe Orlando is well known in the area both as an attorney and a novelist. His first novel, The Fisherman’s Son, was released in 2004 and received critical praise as both a legal thriller and as an accurate depiction of the life of Italian-American fishermen in Gloucester. His recently released novel, The Bastard’s Weapon, is a sequel and second in a series that Orlando is calling The Gloucester Trilogy. His talk is rescheduled from last month when he had to cancel due to a scheduling conflict. His web site is www.JosephMOrlando.com.
Mike Maranhas is originally from New Bedford and lives in Rockport. His soon-to-be-released novel, Re’Enev is a literary fiction/mystery/suspense novel about a couple vacationing on the island of Re’Enev when the wife disappears. It will be released in December and was selected as a Highlighted Title by Independent Publisher Magazine for the month of October, an honor granted by the publication to newly released titles exhibiting superior levels of creativity and originality. His web site is www.MikeMaranhas.com.
The Hovey House Writer’s Group is pleased to present local authors who wish to share their experiences with writing, publishing, and promoting for other writers who are currently writing for publication. All writers are invited to attend. There is no charge for this event.
